Appliqué

Appliqué is a technique in which pieces of fabric or pre-cut and stitched designs are sewn onto a foundation garment or piece of fabric to create designs and lettering. It is a wonderful way to add your favorite fabrics and patterns to your embroidery. Appliqués are often used where you want large letters to stand out prominently, such as Greek lettering on jackets and sweatshirts.
